IPL (intense pulsed light) is not a laser but a broad spectrum of light, filtered to target brown pigment and the red of small blood vessels. The light is absorbed by the spot or vessel and breaks it down, while the skin around it is cooled and protected.
It works best on lighter skin tones with sun spots or redness. At the consultation we’ll look at your skin under our lamp and tell you honestly whether IPL or another treatment is the better choice.
A medical treatment: it starts with a consultation with one of our prescribers, who checks your health and medicines and only treats if it is right for you. Results vary from person to person.
