Chemical peels
Brighter, smoother skin, one layer at a time
- From
- £110
- How long
- 45 minutes
- Downtime
- None to 5 days of flaking, depending on the peel
- Sessions
- A course of 3 to 6, two to four weeks apart

A chemical peel uses a carefully measured acid to loosen the outer layer of dead skin cells, so the fresher skin beneath can come through. Done well and in a course, peels can even out tone, soften fine texture and help skin that breaks out.
We choose the peel and its strength at your consultation, after looking at your skin under our lamp and asking about your health, your medicines and your summer plans. Darker skin tones can peel beautifully too, with the right acids and a gentle preparation.
A medical treatment: it starts with a consultation with one of our prescribers, who checks your health and medicines and only treats if it is right for you. Results vary from person to person.
Who it suits
- Dull or uneven skin tone
- Mild sun damage and fine texture
- Oily skin and occasional breakouts
Not for you if
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have taken isotretinoin in the last six months
- You have a tan or plan to be in strong sun in the coming weeks
- You have active eczema, rosacea flares or broken skin on your face
What happens
- A consultation and, for medium peels, a two-week skin preparation at home
- Cleansing and degreasing the skin
- The peel, applied in timed layers; it tingles and may feel warm
- Neutralising, a cooling mask, moisturiser and sunscreen
Aftercare
- Don't pick or peel flaking skin; let it come away by itself
- Use a gentle cleanser, a plain moisturiser and SPF 50 every day
- No retinoids, acids, scrubs, saunas or hard exercise for 5 to 7 days
