Sunscreen, every single day

The one habit that protects every treatment you've ever had, and how to make it one you'll keep.

Morning light across a bathroom shelf with a frosted bottle of sunscreen, a brass dish and a sprig of eucalyptus

If we could give every client one thing to take home, it would be a sunscreen they like enough to wear every day. Daylight ages skin all year round, through clouds and through windows, and it undoes peels, IPL and microneedling faster than anything else.

Find one you’ll actually wear

The best sunscreen is the one you reach for. Look for a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher (we suggest 50 after treatments) in a texture you enjoy: a fluid for oily skin, a cream for dry skin, a tinted one if you’d rather skip foundation.

Use enough

Most of us use half what we need. For the face and neck, squeeze two finger-lengths of sunscreen and smooth it in as the last step of your morning routine.

Top it up

Reapply every two hours outdoors, after swimming and after sweating. On an office day, one generous morning layer does most of the work.

This guide is general advice. If your skin reacts to sunscreen, or you’re unsure what suits you, ask your practitioner at your next visit.
